To our ChLA colleagues:
The year 2025 is coming to a close, and I am sure many of you are looking forward to the new year. But I wanted to take this opportunity to remind you that we are now accepting submissions for several awards and research grants. Guidelines and submission forms are available via the following links:
Please note that we will no longer require cover letters for the student essay awards. For the Graduate Student Essay Award, students can now submit their own work–or that of a peer–for consideration.
We encourage you to nominate your students and colleagues for the awards; and please consider applying for our research grants.
Submissions for the awards and grants listed above will be accepted until February 1, 2026.

The ChLA Global Committee is planning a series of five monthly roundup posts for 2025-2026 based on the successful roundtable discussion panel "Global Gathering: Let’s Build a Bibliography" held during the 2025 ChLA virtual conference.
For December 2025, we are seeking contributions on current global children's and YA books about LANGUAGE PLAY: Silent Books, Multilingual Books, Books in Local Dialects, Translation Issues.
