Fun Things to do in Indy

  • Monument Circle: When you visit the Circle City in June, be sure to walk three blocks over and one block up to Monument Circle, for which our city gets its name. In the very center of it all is the beautiful Soldiers and Sailors Monument. Rest on the monument's steps, take a carriage ride around the circle, gaze up at the Salesforce Tower, or grab a cocktail at Nicky Blaine's.
  • Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art: The Eiteljorg is one of only two art museums east of the Mississippi dedicated to native art. A current exhibit called A Sense of Beauty is showcasing contemporary and customary native art, many pieces of which have never been displayed before. Also, the food is delicious, and the prices are reasonable—$15 for adults, $8 for kids, and $12 for seniors.

  • Indianapolis Public Library: Take a 20-minute stroll (or a $5 Uber ride) to the Indianapolis Public Library's stunning Central Branch. An architectural hybrid of 20th-century Indiana limestone and 21st-century steel and glass, the Central Library houses such attractions as the Center for Black Literature and Culture, the Nina Mason Pulliam Indianapolis Special Collections Room, and the Learning Curve, an interactive learning space for kids.

  • Canal Walk: Just a block from the Westin and the Convention Center, the canal snakes around downtown Indy, wandering past awesome attractions like the Eiteljorg Museum, the Indiana State Museum and IMAX Theatre, and the Colts Canal Playscape and connecting to the White River and its State Park. You can rent Segways, bikes, and paddle boats, take a gondola ride, or just stroll along the walk as you take in beautiful views of the city.
