The ChLA Beiter Graduate Student Support Fund was established to honor the memory of Dr. Hannah Beiter, a long-time supporter of student participation at the Association’s annual conference. Funding is available to graduate students who are presenting papers to either waive or reduce registration costs for attending the Children’s Literature Association annual conference. Individual awards are granted up to a $75 per student waiver of registration fees. The amount of funding available is dependent on donations or Board designation to the fund and varies annually.
General guidelines
- Complete and submit the following funding request form within the application period (March 31, 2008 –April 15, 2008). Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
- Applications should be written in or translated into English.
- All applications are reviewed and funding awarded by the ChLA Conference Planning Committee.
- Application for funding is competitive; not all applicants will receive support. Preference will be given to students not receiving support to attend the conference from other sources.
- Funding is not transferable to another student and will be forfeited by the student if they withdraw their paper and are unable to present in person at the conference.
- If there are no applications for the Beiter Graduate Student Support funding that the Conference Planning Committee deems worthy of support, no funding will be given.
