Children's Literature

Children’s Literature is the annual of the Children’s Literature Association, which is an organization formed to encourage serious scholarship and research in children’s literature. We seek to publish theoretically based articles that address a significant problem and demonstrate an awareness of key issues and criticism in children’s literature. Articles are reviewed blind by outside readers, and most articles undergo several revisions before final publication. We publish full-length articles (20-30pp), Varia pieces (8-10pp), book reviews, and abstracts of dissertations of note. Volume 27 includes an index to Volumes 1-25.

Note that effective January 1, 2004, volume 32 (2004) of Children’s Literature and all future volumes will only be printed in softcover and will only be available as part of membership subscription to the Children’s Literature Association. Single issue purchase is only available on past year volumes and availability is limited.

Institutional membership dues for 2007 are $145.00 for USA members, $160.00 for Canadian institutions and $175.00 for those outside the USA or Canada. Members receive a copy of Children’s Literature (as well as four issues of the Children’s Literature Association Quarterly) (ISSN: 0885-0429). Manuscripts submitted should conform to the new MLA style. Submission as an e-mail attachment (MS Word) is requested. Author’s name should appear only on a separate cover sheet to facilitate blind review. John Hopkins University Press requires double-spacing throughout text and notes as well as unjustified margins.
